Personal Notes: Swam for 14 years of my life and all the way through college. Did some triathlons post swimming but loved the team dynamic of cycling far too much to keep me in tris. I was raised in a small town and now love living in the heart of DC.
Do you train solo or with friend or teammates? I prefer to train/ride with others. Cycling is not an individual sport and life is about relationships with other people. I like to enjoy sharing my cycling passion with friends and other people who enjoying riding as well.
If you designed a bike, what would the headbadge design be? Something really awesome.
What race are you most proud of? I’m most proud of any race where there was great team cohesion and collective effort. A great finishing place is always a nice bonus flowing from that. There is something special about teams which work selflessly together for one cause/goal/effort.
If you could go on a ride with anyone in the world, past or present, who would it be? C.S. Lewis.
What musical artist do you currently listen to the most? Hillsong
Do you prefer an energy drink or coffee? Coffee… naturally.
What is your favorite non-cycling magazine? I don’t read magazines much. Give me a great book in a café and I’m set.
Where is your favorite place to ride? Anywhere when it’s not raining. Preferably with a coffee shop somewhere in route.
What is your favorite race? Tour of America’s Dairy Land
What is one piece of advice for an aspiring racer? Have some fun. People can get wrapped up in having a picture perfect plan, training, nutrition, etc … But at the end of the day just make sure you can have a good laugh, enter the pain cave and have some fun.
