What is one piece of advice for an aspiring racer? – Give up the group rides. Well at least most group rides. You can’t go hard all the time and I’ve never known a group ride to only be 80%. Speaking from experience, if all you do are group rides, you’ll either burn out mid season or have your best day on a ride, as opposed to in a race.
