Favorite Quote: Poor planning by you does not constitute an emergency for me.
Personal Notes: I began racing when I moved to Tucson in the fall of 2005. Like most of my “hobbies” cycling quickly grew into an obsession. What I find most rewarding about the sport is exactly what I find most rewarding about my profession—that is, there is never a point where you can say you’ve accomplished all there is to accomplish. It is a never-ending quest that allows you to continue to improve and develop over a lifetime. I enjoy the process and cycling, like music, is all about the journey. Sorry, that was kind of deep.

Do you train solo or with friend or teammates?
Solo, mostly.

The Selmer ‘S’, which could be confused for Sacawa.

2009 Tour of the Valley TT and Road Race

The New Yorker, but I never have time to read it.

Where is your favorite place to ride?
Tucson, except on those days when you get three flats on one ride.

What is your favorite race?
To watch: La Flèche Wallonne. To race: Any epic parcours.

What is one piece of advice for an aspiring racer?
You’ll never feel like you’ve “trained enough” so stop making excuses and sign up for a race.
